shou sugi ban (焼杉板) is a particularly striking method of preserving wood by charring it with fire that originated in 18th century Japan. The wood is burned until the surface is charred, and then coated with natural oil.
This is sealed with a food safe finish. Give this gorgeous board a new home and make charcuterie wildly fancy.
