Cactus and Plant Pot Stained Glass Workshop - 23rd May

Discover the beautiful craft of stained glass in this relaxed and creative Stained Glass Cactus Workshop, perfect for beginners looking to try something a little different. 

In this hands-on session, you’ll be guided through the traditional techniques of stained glass making, learning how to cut and shape glass, smooth edges, apply copper foil and solder your pieces together to bring your cactus design to life. Once assembled, you’ll clean and polish your work, ready to display.

To complete your piece, you’ll also paint your own terracotta pot, adding colour and personality to perfectly complement your glass cactus.

You’ll leave with a unique handcrafted piece, ready to brighten any shelf, desk or windowsill.

What you'll learn?

• How to cut, shape and smooth stained glass following a pattern
• Apply copper foil and learn about burnishing
• Learn to use flux, tinning iron and about working safely
• How to use soldering irons to create a professional piece
• Clean and polish your piece!

Additional information

Please wear appropriate clothing/aprons for the workshop, this includes covered footwear (no sandals or open toes).

Please note: If you are pregnant, you should consult your GP before enrolling on this course, as working with solder can be harmful to the developing baby.

Please do not wear loose clothing or dangly jewellery, as it may get caught in machinery. Long hair must be tied back.

Please note that you will be standing up to work for most of the session.
